It seems like I am always a couple of days behind on this thing. So, in an effort not to forget our big day today...well, I am going to skip New Year's and a birthday party (don't worry, I'll get to them) to tell about today.
We had a big day today. We woke up. Well, let me rephrase that, I woke up and then proceeded to wake up Grant. We got dressed and ready to go to the dentist!! This would be our third dentist visit, so Grant is getting the hang of this. However, I was still scared. The last time I took him, well he was less than cooperative. He wasn't too bad until they tried to touch is mouth. lol
So, on the car ride to the dentist (all of seven minutes), I talked to Grant about the dentist and what they would be doing. I told him as long as he didn't cry and he did what they asked of him, then he could have anything he wanted...ANYTHING. So, "what do you want?" I asked. "Fuut ooll up," Grant replied. "Okay, a fruit rollup," I repeated. He agreed that he was for sure that is what he wanted. He will be disappointed later in life when he finds out he could have asked for anything and all he requested was a fruit rollup (which by the way, those companies should be ashamed of themselves for even putting the word fruit in the title of this sticky, candy-like substance...I know, a little ironic that a reward for being good for the dentist is a fruit rollup...the dentist would have a heartattack).
Grant was perfect for the dentist. I am not bragging, but kindof I am. I was so proud. Now, I will grant you the fact that he was playing in the lobby (which had games and a basketball goal, so it was meant to be played in...just the other kids were quiet comparatively to Grant). Anyway, he didn't grasp the concept of getting x-rays done but he didn't cry...he just didn't bite down long enough and hold still. That was okay, he did hold still and open wide for the dentist and the cleaning technician...yeah!! We have a clean bill of health for our teeth.
Next, we went to the shop to visit Grandpa and dad...then convinced them and Gramma to go to Applebee's for lunch. Grant had chicken strips (for the first time he wanted chicken strips). We went to Target, played in the park with Aunt Lisa and had chocolate cake when we got home. We played with our toys and took a bath. During the bath, he told me he had to go "poopoo." So, we pottied in the "big potty." We only peepeed, but it was a start that he wanted to try to poopoo...the cats distracted him (I think). Last, but not least we started brushing our teeth with flouride toothpaste and spitting at the sink!!!!!!!! We are officially becoming a "big boy." And to think, tomorrow he is officially 2 1/2 years old!!!!!!!! Guess where we are going...Disneyland, baby! Oh, What A Big Day We Had and Will Have Tomorrow!! :) Just had to share some of our new changes and STUFF.

Wow! He is a big boy! I guess I'd better get on taking Nat to the dentist. We were planning on going to Disneyland tomorrow too - until I got sick or . . . couldn't get rid of the cold that turned into some sort of sinus infection that would never go away!
