Our Dogs Might Keep Us...No, Really!

Today, we celebrated Presidents' Day in a glorious fashion....well, at least our dogs think so. When we got up, I was not expecting Scott to be off (he is never off on holidays...well, almost never because we take off so many other times throughout the year). Anyway, we were discussing some ideas of what we could do and I remembered there are some dog beaches around. So, we went to the Huntington Beach Dog Beach!! Our dogs were in Heaven, so was Grant. We had a blast and everyone was tired and wet by the end of the visit. In fact, Scott and I were laughing at how wet Grant was and how unprepared we were for that. He had to ride home without pants and just in underwear and a towel. LOL

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them, until my camera battery went out. That was too funny because Scott said I was only able to get about 100 pictures. I actually got about 140 before it went down...just kidding. I did (and do) take a lot.

What another hike?

Happy Jerry
Happy Maggie

Lola is in Heaven!

What is up with the family? Well, we are on this hiking kick. Our dogs are so happy (and sore) they can barely stand it! We decided to go for another hike today. Scott found a hike that our Aunt Kris did recently. It was not too far away and we remembered her describing several waterfalls and that was great sounding. When we looked up the hiking place on the Internet, it said it was of moderate difficulty. It actually was moderately difficult. We had a very steep downgrade...you know what they say, "what goes down, must come up." Well, at least that is what I kept saying. We had a great time. Please if you don't believe me, look at these pictures! I have never seen a happier picture of Maggie and Jerry...Lola always looks happy, hey, she's blonde.

We Are Hiking Fools

In the last month, we have decided to take some hikes. We have been taking ourselves (and today the dogs) for a hike in the mountains. We have found that Grant is as excited about a water puddle as he is about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (and that is some serious excitement). I have found that when life gets too hectic, a nice hike can really do the body and mind some good. Everyone that knows me, knows that I am not a exerciser.... but this hiking thing is just great.

I am able to take some wonderful pictures and at the same time really enjoy being with my family (uninterrupted). Today, it was particularly cool because we took the dogs out. Also, it was a nice 85 degrees outside in February (but some people still don't believe we have a Global Warming issue going on). LOL

Here are some hiking pictures!

Christmas and Friends

Every year, my girlfriends from work and I always get together with our fifteen kids and have a celebration. We are eight women with fifteen kids between us. We always have a great time and the kids have a blast. Our children range in age from 8 months old to 15 years old! Most are of the 1 to 4 year-old range. It is fun to see all of them get together. We use to be much more delegent about getting together a couple times a month for some type of play date. However, this semester has seemed a little busy.

Another tradition at Christmas is having some of our friends over. Grant has a best friend (well, one at school, but also one outside of school). His best friend is Grace. She is the daughter of our close friends! It works out just perfectly. So, we've taken a picture together this year.

I'm Taking a Poll...Does Willie Look Happy?

Seriously, I would like to see how many of you really feel Willie looks festively happy or am I losing it? LOL Does Willie seem as happy as I believe he was to take this picture with the antlers on?

'Tis the Season!

Grant had a great Christmas season and he is still singing Christmas songs and it is (Feb. 1st). LOL Anyway, he had a couple of performances. His first performance was with his preschool class. This was a great success and we had fun being in the audience.

They sang, "Three Wise Men Were Looking For a Star," "Happy Birthday Jesus," "The Angels Sing," and "Silent Night." He learned all of his songs and the Bible verse, John 3:16. He did great!

After the performance, we went to pick out our beautiful Christmas tree. Scott and Grant always do a great job with that and you can agree by looking at the above picture.
