Well, Scott and I just got back from a cruise to Catalina and Ensenada. The cruise was great! We had a great time and were excited to get back. We were so excited that we were the first off of the boat....why? Well, if you know us, that does not sound like us at all. What would make us act that crazy? Our son. Yes, Grant.
We received an email one week before our cruise indicating that Grant was receiving an award on that Friday that our ship came back. The ceremony was at 8:45 am. We were set to dock by 7:30am. Well, we didn't know if it could happen but we figured we should try. They didn't tell us what the award was for, in fact we speculated anywhere from a fundraising award to an academic award.
Well, out of twenty other classmates in his kindergarten class, he was chosen to be one of four to receive an award. The award was in the area of Language Arts for being an "amazing Accelerated Reader." We are so proud. I would post pictures, but I have two reasons not to do so. Oh, and yes, if you could not figure out...we made it to the award ceremony. Thank you Grandpa Gary for getting up so early and coming to get us!
Two reasons I am not posting a pic on here. One is that my camera is on the brink (although I took some yesterday). Second reason is because I am a little weird about someone scrolling the Internet and finding out what elementary school my son goes to...which was posted on every ounce of every picture I took. :)
WE ARE TOO PROUD!!! Grant is reading at a third grade level and he loves to read. :)

Yay! Congrats to Grant and to you for making it there. How exciting!!! Glad you had a nice vacation! Miss you guys!
You can do what I did and take the drawing tool and scribble over the name. I did that on one of Nat's awards so you couldn't read the school name.
