Olvera Street

Grant and I were supposed to meet up with my students at the Metrolink, but as we got out of our car the metrolink we were catching was passing by...I guess we were a few minutes too late. Luckily, one of my students (who has since graduated) had her brand new mustang. So, we drove the group of students to Olvera Street (we were only seven all together...including Grant and I).

We had a great time. We walked around and shopped. I complained about the price of a Guayabera shirt for Grant. I cannot believe that I can buy Scott one for less than $15, but Grant the cheapest was $17. Now that doesn't make sense, especially when you know Grant isn't going to take that much material. Well, needless to say, I did not purchase one for him. I am still on the lookout because I do think it is adorable. I've put one in the pictures above.

Anyway, we went to eat afterward. I love my Psychology students because they are so diverse and willing to try new things. We all ordered something different and enjoyed the food. Not surprisingly, we ate at a Mexican restaurant. I say "not surprisingly" because for those of you who do not know Olvera Street, it is a historic part of Los Angeles celebrating Mexican culture. Although we did see a lot of different Latin American cultures represented.

I hope to get together with my students (at least) one more time before they head to college or I go back to work. Grant and I had a great time!!! Thanks for the fun! I am going to post the picture separately, so I can give a caption under each.
