Just a Cute Note

First and foremost, I should mention that school is back in session, so the blog will suffer from this for awhile. However, I have to write this down...it was too cute. Last night when I was putting Grant to bed, we always have the same routine. We take a bubble bath (an Elmo bubble bath because they are Elmo bubbles). Then, we put an animal towel on and make the sound of the animal and look in the mirror and say, "Mommy and Gant." (He doesn't pronounce the "r" yet...it's so cute). Next, off to his room where we dry off and put on pajamas (which recently has been a bit of a chore because he now wants to pick out his pj's...that's fine until he picks out a long sleeve and you know he'll be too hot and wake up in the middle of the night or shorts and then he's too cold). Next, we clean our ears and comb our hair and brush our teeth (well, for Grant it is just to suck the toothpaste off the brush). Now, it is time for us to pick out our books we will read and warm up some milk (don't worry a quick brush of the teeth and the milk goes away).

So, last night same old thing. However, when we went out to pick out the books he had his "You Can Name 100 Trucks" book and a book by Charles Schulz about wanting a dog for Christmas. This is the deal, it was my second day of school, I was exhausted and the Charlie Brown book was way too long. So, I tried to slip in the "Mo's Stinky Sweater" book (a favorite of Gmans) or "The Secret Birthday Message"....NO, that would not do, we had to have the Charlie Brown book. Okay, fine. As I handed Grant his milk, he ran to his bedroom with excitement and I tossed the Charlie Brown book on the coffee table in the living room and thought I had won a victory.

So, I turn on the night light and get ready to read and noticed...puppies were not in bed. Now, I could care less if puppies were in bed or not, but this would pose a problem for Gman later on. So, as a preventative measure I ask Grant, "where are puppies?" He jumps out of bed and heads to the living room where he had left them both. As he is coming through the door, I realized the funniest thing...Grant was carrying two puppies and the Charlie Brown book. He handed me the book and gave me the look of "you must have dropped it." I couldn't stop laughing. I read it happily and after five more books he fell asleep.

That kid is smart!! I like his style!! He makes me laugh!! I was so tired yesterday and that is what a wonderful child like Grant can do for you....lift you up! Enjoy the Labor Day weekend! DON'T LABOR!
