Happy Anniversary, Aunt Doris and Uncle Fount

We have to say Happy 60th Anniversary to Scott's aunt and uncle!!! Wow! What a great accomplishment. Aunt Doris and Uncle Fount are such neat people. We went to their anniversary party and there were quite a few children Grant's age. There were several older, too. However, Grant realized pretty quickly that he wasn't old enough to play with some of the teenage boys. In the words of Grant...."they play too rough."

Anyway, we were happy to be there and they were prepared for the kids by having a bouncer. The bouncer was at the lower part of the yard and so Grant decided to roll down the hill several times. He is a boy!!! We had a great time and shared in a very special time.

This has nothing to do with Grant but it is too funny

After the Pump It Up party, we went back to Aunt Kris and Uncle Nick's house to open up toys and let Grant play at his leisure. While cleaning up the gifts, we found out that Scott is hooked on Net Flix. At the time, his newest love was for the Dallas series that they had on Net Flix. Yeah, Dallas, like "Who Shot JR?" Okay, so he decided to philosophical tell us all how we can learn a lot from Dallas. Here is his starting argument...hear the laughter from all around:

Pump It Up!!! A Special Birthday!

Grant had his third birthday party at Pump It Up! He had been there one other time with his Parent & Me group with Scott. He was pumped up for about two months. That was a glorious incentive that we could use often. We would often say things like, "Do you want a Pump It Up party? Then, you better start pottying in the toilet....Then, you better eat all of your veggies...Then, you better pick up your toys....Then, you better stop crying...." Now, what do we have? Well, we are onto things like, "Do you want to go to preschool?" I know this seems like an unusual incentive, but the boy is excited about SCHOOL!!! Like mother, like son. LOL (hey, Scott liked school, too...so, Grant had no hope but to love it).

Anyway, we planned Grant's birthday for Pump It Up and had a blast. Everyone we invited showed up (except two friends that fell ill). Anyway, we had nearly 30 kids!! Fun was had by all and I think the adults were just as tired as the kids.

It is really neat because they start off with an informational video and move the kids onto the first room. The first room has a big slide and a lot of inflatable play areas. Then, after 40 minutes in the first room, we move to the second room of inflatables (for another 40 minutes). The kids love the bouncing and they let the adults on, too!! The last 40 minutes is in the food room where you serve food (which we had a bunch of fruit, crackers, and snackie foods for toddlers), sing the birthday song and eat cake! We didn't open the gifts until later. I felt a little bad about that, but I knew Grant would have a meltdown. He has a tendancy to get focused on one gift at a time. I knew it would not be fun for him or anyone watching. I did take pictures of him opening his gifts and shared them with each person that gave him a gift, so they could see the excitement he had with their gift. I also, was scared to push him too much since he was sick the day before.

The party lasted for two hours (and actually they let us go over that). It was great and we were exhausted afterwards. Most importantly, Grant was tired and went right to sleep (and we had this in the morning).

A Video from Grant's Birthday at Pump It Up!!!

I will have to complete a full entry, but for now please enjoy this wonderful video of a child with his loving son....oops, I mean Scott and Grant. LOL I am not sure who enjoyed Pump It Up more, Scott or Grant!!! The place was great and when they say they take care of everything, they mean it! I think everyone had fun!

Another Video...Grant and his Quad

For Grant's 3rd birthday, his grandparents went in on a large gift. They bought the little guy a quad. Grant loves it and has become more proficient than he is in the video...enjoy.

Singing a Wiggles Song

I know this was a few months ago and Grant certainly has changed, but I just could not share this with everyone. We were planting some new flowers in May for the upcoming months.

Our Church Had a BBQ

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of our pastor at our church, they had a BBQ. It was a great time and actually the first time that Grant hit at pinata. He had a blast!! The BBQ was after church in the back of the church. We all were asked to dress casual. There was a chili cook off, games for the kids, and lots of other food. I captured some of the fun times by the kids at the church. Grant is the youngest that could hit the pinata, so he got to go first. After a couple of swings by some of the older kids, the pinata was broken...or ripped. So, it was "fixed" for another hit...upon the second rip, the guy in charge just ripped it open over the basketball courts and let the kids go wild. Aunt Kris stepped in and helped Grant collect some candy...she is always looking out for Grant!
